Judge Kimberly G. Starks is a native of the Gulf Coast and attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she received an Associate Degree (AA). She then went to the University of Southern Mississippi where she was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and Public Administration. After two years of graduate studies at the University of Southern Mississippi, she entered the University  of Mississippi School of Law from which she received a Juris Doctorate.

 

Following graduation from law school, Judge Starks returned to Jackson County where she became an Assistant District Attorney, handling the majority of that office's child abuse cases and serving on the Child Abuse Task Force. Judge Starks has been the elected Jackson County Youth Court Judge since January, 1995, handling juvenile delinquency and child abuse and neglect referrals for the County.

 

She is active in many community organizations, especially the Jackson County Children's Services Coalition.
