Tax Assessor

 

Benny Goff, MAE

Elected tax assessor in 1996, Benny Goff is a graduate of Delta State University with a BS degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics and Math. Prior to becoming Jackson County Tax Assessor, Mr. Goff served as Jackson County Recreation Director for 17 years. He is past executive director of the Jackson County Parks Commission and from 1968 to 1978 was a junior and senior high math teacher.

The Mississippi Assessors and Collectors Association has certified Mr. Goff as an Assessment Evaluator. A life member of the Delta State University Alumni Association, the tax assessor is active in community and church. His memberships include: Caswell Springs United Methodist Church (Administrative Board, Sunday School Teacher, Youth Coordinator, and various committees), South Mississippi Cursillo, Jackson County Christian Coalition, American Family Association, Jackson County Soil and Water Conservation District (chairman), Mississippi Association of Conservation Districts (state president).

A graduate of Leadership Jackson County, Mr. Goff has coached Dixie Youth Baseball and basketball and football youth groups.
